So don't tell the guys on the 996 forum ... but I think I'm getting bored with the 996 as my every day car. My 914 is the little weekend car. I've even thought of selling that ... hhmm, maybe it's just a phase I'm going thru.
But ...
No one on this site has an Esprit, do they? Ferrari, etc. but why no Lotus? That's what I always "thought" I wanted. Someone talk me out of it ...
Anyway - I was thinking of going for something like an E500 4matic for the week and an Esprit for the odd run-around fun.

I have owned most of the Esprits made since 1977. What model/year are you interested in? They are nice cars and beautiful to look at. You kind of fit in the interior like a glove. Some people don't like it, it is very small. Personally, I like the fit. What I don't like is the lack of a dead pedal and some other ergonomic issues. Just make sure you spend some time driving one and that you don't mind the minor issues...
If you like the 914, and the 996, go spend some time in an Elise. They are really great cars imo. A buddy of mine owns www.huntingridgemotors.com. Give him a call if they are close to you; his name is Mark Starr.

Keeping them both! I really don't want to let go of the 914. The Lotus is cool ... but I'm not ready to give up my cars yet! Thanks for the feedback! Maybe someday I'll make the switch (when I get more garage space!) ...
However - I'd love to see this car go to a good home. Email me if you're interested ... I'll hook you up with the owner. Also in NJ.
