I change my own oil... no jack or jack stands are necessary. Just use a big shallow catch pan and slide it underneath the engine as you do the final twist of the drain plug.
I'm going to use the jack to swap out my new wheels first of all. I can also use the jack for jacking up my Airstream to pull the wheels, do brake work and pack the bearings.
I won't use it too often, but when I need it I'll have it. First order though is to change the wheels on the Carrera 4.

AC makes the finest jacks period. For someone who wants a jack just for his Porsche (and not a host of other uses), I recommend this model (very low with a long reach, high lift, and low side rails is great for lowered sportscars):
