Man, if I had a place up north for this Boston Whaler I'd buy it right now. I'd have it hauled up there and would pick up a pair of used fresh water twins for it once I got it up there. Sweet.

You can rent one when you feel like fishing. Far more cost effective...

Oh man, beetle. You have no idea what you just said. I could also rent a hooker... or a Porsche. No difference, they are both beautiful creatures that bring us pleasure.
A boat is something that one works on and takes pride in. It's a thing of function and beauty. When you are way out on the water alone in your boat without another vessel in sight, it's like going to a different world. It's not about fishing.
I'll rent a house... but never a car, boat, gun or guitar.

Well, from my perspective I long realized I cannot have everything, so I prioritize. I am happier that way.

I can have the cars I want because I just skip the non-essential things like food, clothing, and shelter.

There are some things one should not risk ones life for, by renting:
- women
- guns
- boats
A malfunction of any of these can get you killed real quickly.

Spider, sounds like a whaler is just what the doctor needs to order. Life is short...

Here's a project. I think it was a hurricane boat. A little dinged and water damaged. Probably needs rewiring and new fuel system. The motor apparently didn't survive, but there are plenty of good used 2-strokes out there to bolt onto the hull. $3,250 asking. It's so tempting...

I think that your Revenge-a-tosis is contagious.
May I ask the year and length on that one?

That's a 1986 22 footer. I owned one just like that with twin 90 hp Johnsons on it back in the late 1980's. Should have kept it.
Here is a 25 footer. I really like the lines on this boat. They are just about perfect. This is a heavy boat, with the rig weighing in at about 7,200 pounds wet. It would be quite a load for highway towing, even for my 3/4 ton suburban with the 7.4 liter engine. It's big. Could be a little tense stopping that baby with surge brakes on wet asphalt.

Someone just told me the story about their son's new home upstate near the lakes. came with a boat and trailer- the first time he was using the trailer he was on a local road braked and watched the boat pass him on the right- it rolled off to the side of the raod and gently stopped with no damage - a local stopped and showed him how to engage the tow hitch properly

Similar story in East Texas when a friend of mine saw his loaded horse trailer pass him on a downhill! Luckily all ended well.
