We don't have one ... but we did take a long test drive in an S. It's nice. Big diff with the Sport mode on. I love the $$$ natural interior, but $$$. Other than the turn signals, etc. I don't see a huge change.

I'll probably drive both the standard Cayenne and the S next week. I think that I know what you mean about the interior, I used to love the cocoa leather interiors, but they were quite pricey.

I test drove a Cayenne S today. They did not have a Cayenne demonstrator for comparison. The S felt pretty nice though even though it's clearly not on par with my Carrera (RoW M030).

It did feel very good for an SUV though, Clearly better than the X5 4.4i that I drove last year. Lightyears beyond the Highlander hybrid that I drove also. The Cayenne S also sounded very nice. So I placed an order. Thanks to whoever recommended HBL in Tyson's Corner, VA. They are close and also a very nice dealership.

Thanks very much for sharing. Those choices are visually stunning. I really like those 21 inch wheels with Basalt Black. I thought that I saw an S on the rennteam forum which was black with 21s and it also looked very nice.

Your impressions will really help. I have been considering, for example, changing my order from stock "comfort" seats to sport seats. Your photos really show the difference. Are there any downsides to this change?

I hope that the Cayenne Turbo works out well for you.

For the record...
I have had my 2008 Cayenne S for about a week and a half now. So far I am pretty happy with it. It certainly responds well to throttle input and the difference between non-sport and sport throttle and transmission maps are pretty stark.

Its utility is also fairly high.

I plan to take it on a jaunt to Cape Cod and back over the next week, even though it's not broken in yet, I'll post mileage when I am done. I am hoping to beat EPA numbers.

Just drove my 2008 Cayenne S from No. VA to Cape Cod. It only had 500 miles when I started the trip, so it wasn't anywhere near broken in.

I hit a few traffic jams, but made the 500 mile trip in 9 hours and averaged 22.9 MPG. I am hoping that it improves a little as it breaks in.
