Cayenne owners,
How do you like your Cayennes?
What do you consider to be "must have" and "should avoid" options?
If you have taken your Cayenne in the snow, was it very capable?
thanks,
Joel

How do you like your Cayennes? >> YES, I love the Cayenne! It's been 100% perfect in every aspect: usefulness, performance, comfort, etc. Not one (knock on the optional wood dash strip) problem! We have the non-S model, and that's dandy for us ... we bought this model specifically as the "run to PetSmart to pick up cat litter and safe parking" vehicle. If we want to drive a Porsche sports car ... we'd drive the 911!
What do you consider to be "must have" and "should avoid" options? >> We're thinking about trading this one in sometime soon-ish. Must have options are as follows: Park assist, air suspension, maybe the panorama roof; in addition to nav, Bose, heated seats and steering wheel and a bit of wood.
If you have taken your Cayenne in the snow, was it very capable? >> Very capable, no complaints. It "is" the official snow car (vs my C4S with snows). We didn't even put big snowtires on the Cayenne, the standard all-weather tires did the trick.
Hope this helps!

Wow, sounds like one thumbs up and one thumbs down. I have spoken to BMW X5 owners and received one up and two downs.
Sandee thanks for the feedback. I am hoping to find a reliable comfortable vehicle for winter drives from Virginia to Massachusetts, perhaps with a few ski trips thrown in. From what I have heard, the Cayenne would be a good choice. Thanks also for the air suspension recommendation. I was going to get the lesser option, but I keep hearing good things about the air suspension.
Spider, thanks for the reference also. I appreciate your taking the time to point out Ben's experience. This decision is a tough one for me. I was a real Cayenne hater. The weight, SUV-ness, mileage, etc just didn't seem right. However, if I get another car, I am convinced that its capabilities should be very different from my Carrera. I also wouldn't feel right subjecting my Carrera to the Northeast in the winter.
all the best.

Joel, there is a time when we need SUV's rather than Carreras. Get whatever SUV you think works best for you. The Carrera is not much of a snow car with those wide tires on it. Besides, winter is hard on vehicles with the salt, sand and dirt taking their toll. Good luck in your decision!

absolutely must in my opinion:
air suspension, xenon lights
then
navigation, bose, privacy glass
then
2o inch techno wheels - makes the car look so much better, sunroof, heated seats

Thanks for the ideas.
Have you driven a Cayenne S without the air suspension? I have heard that the ride is harsh.
thank again, Joel
